A lot of people blame him for the “thin body” aesthetic, somebody made a post about it a while ago I don’t remember who though 😥

once I saw a post that said Balanchine forced NYCB’s dancers to have visible bones… actually I don’t know if that’s true but personally I don’t think he’s the one to blame, I think extreme thinness in ballet existed already in his era.
